Herb Hunting
Ciel had been worried that he'd lose his way and miss Lake Tyluafel, but he quickly realized that was impossible. The lake was too large to miss. Even surrounded on all sides by bushes and grass like it was, there was no hiding the body of water. The rising sun had just begun to climb the horizon, bathing everything in a warm golden glow. The orakovan had told him to look on the eastern bank of the lake, clarifying that it would be the direction from which the sun was rising. Ciel ambled along, careful not to lose either the pouch or the totem.
To his disappointment, there were no obvious golden fronds. At least not from this distance. Preparing himself to carefully dig through each bush and patch of grass, Ciel had just begun moving forward again when the first morning rays reflected off of something along the bank. Making his way over, Ciel carefully searched for the glint of light he had seen, wondering if he had hallucinated.
Pushing aside the cattails that briefly took his attention, Ciel eventually noticed a pale golden glow. It was a plant! Leaves were glowing as if lit up from within! Ciel jumped around happily before carefully approaching the small patch of herbs. The orakovan had thought ahead enough to warn him not to injure the leaves, but they hadn't taught him how.
In an attempt to be careful, he spent the majority of the morning clawing at the dirt to try and remove the herbs with its roots intact. His clumsy claws and teeth didn't quite manage it, but the golden leaves had been freed with no rips or tears. Surging with the joy of success, Ciel tucked the herbs into the pouch along with the single dragon tear he had collected from the caravan earlier. With prize in hand, he now had to find his way to the nearest marketplace. There, he could possibly exchange the herbs for zil and potentially tears. He would then have to collect quite a sum of those for the dragon souls his totem needed.
While he'd heard the Asarei talk about a much larger city nearby, Ciel didn't like the thought of surrounding himself with so many Magescians. Fortunately, a quick scan along the lake's edges showed that there was another settlement situated very close by. If Ciel were careful, he could probably even sneak in without any of the Magescians noticing him.
Plan made, Ciel set out for what he would later learn was the Village of Alae.

The land around you is gushing with golden leaves and bright green plants with colorful blossoms bursting out scenting the air with delicate flavors.
You heard in the market place or perhaps from gossip among your peers that a special herb grew along the banks of Lake Tyluafel. The asarei mages prized it for its radiant and energizing properties, claiming that spells and potions made with the herb were much stronger. The problem is, no one ever described the herb. All you overheard was that you would "know it when you see it"; and with that you left to go out and seek it yourself! All you know is that it dwells mostly on the Eastern banks of Tyluafel and that it is easiest to find during the morning.
-----
As you hunt among the pale green bushes and golden brown grasses in the mid morning sun, a pale light catches your eye off to your left, sparkling from a patch of cattails along the bank. A scent that reminds you of a summer day comes from that direction.
Drawn to the scent and the light, you push the cattails aside to reveal a softly glowing pale gold plant. It's soft looking leaves extend outwards from it's base, stuck in the ground. This must be the special plant that they spoke of! After all, what other herb glowed a pale gold?
