For the magescians that wish to utilize them, there are many professions you can choose from. Professions are a great way to earn zil and dragon tears, as your crafted goods may be sold to the Main Caravan and other players. Each character can only master one profession throughout their lifetime, so choose wisely. This is locked with the character for good, just like their class. For khehora, only once they are grown into a khehorian can they then take up a profession. Upon choosing your character's profession, you will be able to choose one basic instruction and will be given your professional tool as well. From there, you will have to go out into the world and find/buy more reagents as well as other instructions if you so desire. The different major professions one can take up are as follows: alchemy, enchanting, engineering, jewelcrafting, smithing, or tailoring. There is a basis we call minor professions for each major profession. They are utilized to help build up the major professions. The minor professions include: herbalism, disenchanting, scrapping, prospecting, mining and skinning. The minor professions do not require any leveling, but are needed in order to give attention to the main professions above. These are mostly done through "Adventures". You can do the herb hunting adventure to obtain a specific herb you're looking for. Dive into the mines and mine some different metals needed for smithing. Go looking for scraps and tearing pieces of things apart for engineering. Find magical items to disenchant for enchanting. Or take up skinning which will definitely help you in your tailoring profession. Feel free to do as many adventures as you'd like. Do you have an idea for a different profession you'd like to see brought to Magesc? Please feel free to DM a staff member and tell us about the mechanics of it and if we find it fits in with the world, we will try our best to add it in!

In order to level any of the major professions, you will need several things: the professional tool (which you will receive for free once you begin a profession), the instructions and the reagents for the instructions. The reagents as well as some more advanced instructions can be found in adventures. You may also purchase them from the Main Caravan. Once you have all the items necessary, you can do a training role play and once you've mastered the craft, you may do crafting role plays. More on those below. To keep track of your progress, a "stat" will be added to your character's journal. This is your character's level to mastery of the skill. After each training solo, you gain 1 point towards that stat. Ranks & Their Skill Levels:Basic (0 to 9) Initiate (10 to 19) Advanced (20 to 29) Master (30+) Each training solo you complete will earn you one skill point in that profession. Once you've hit level 30, you're a true master of your profession and can gather greater recipes and craft nicer, stronger items which can be sold for dragon tears. The greater the items the more quantity of tears you can get. You will also find rarer or more complex instructions in adventures, bought from the Main Caravan, or they may even be given out in events. Your character can even craft specialty items (that you yourself make up), with the permission and approval of staff, combining different reagents if you so desire. » training rpsYou need to do a 500 word role play (can be solo or regular with another character) to create the item you wish in order to level up your profession, granted you have the necessary reagents to make said item. This 500 words will dwindle as you become more proficient in your profession. So, for the basic rank, you will need 500 word RPs. At the initiate rank, this will go down to 400 words. At the advanced rank, this will go down to 300 words. » crafting rpsOnce you've mastered your profession, the word count is only 100 words per crafting solo or role play. This allows you to quickly write a few hundred words and craft multiple items per post, as long as you have the reagents necessary to craft the items. » adding new recipesDo you have an idea for a new recipe? Feel free to RP your character coming up with something new. The only restriction is that it must use items from the caravan's shop. Non-stat boosting items (a regular plate of food/a plain metal chain with no benefits besides being pretty) are free to be created as you'd like. If you'd like to have that recipe added to the main list for players to buy, you may 'sell' it to the shop for 1 dragon tear, with the format below DM'd to staff. If you would like to have your item have stats, please DM a staff member with any ideas first before you post it. We'd like to keep things as balanced as possible. Name of Item Crafted: -insert a description of the item here- Reagents: The ingredients you used from the shop. If you need something that makes sense that's NOT sold in the shop, PM the mule and we can try to add a new item for you! Produces: Number of items it creates and what item it is. I.E: A batch of cookies = 12 cookies, but a recipe for a sword only has 1 sword.

» overviewAn alchemist uses their skills to craft high quality potions and poisons to be used in battle. They also have the ability to, at the highest level, transmute specific reagents into other reagents for theirs and others uses. They use formulas to devise their perfect alchemical mixtures. Sometimes viewed as the "mad scientists" of Magesc, but many refute that claim. In fact, many alchemists become natural healers, using their knowledge of herbalism to their advantage. The alchemist's professional tool is the mortar & pestle, which is needed to crush the herbs together to create many a salve and ready different ingredients before placing them in the beakers and bottles for use. An alchemist's minor profession is called herbalism, which gives the herbalist double the herb drops from any adventures or creature hunts they participate in. » useful adventures[/ul] ✦ formulas ✦ {https://i.imgur.com/o4Rs033.png}

» overviewEnchanters are very magical in that they use the powers of ink and magical quills to imbue paper and other items with astral and blood magics. These items are empowered with the magics the enchanter uses. They can also imbue paper to give to someone so they may apply the enchantment as they see fit. Different enchants can do different things, depending upon the specific spell used. Enchanters use different guides in order to figure out the perfect combination of items to create the ink for a perfect enchantment. Enchanters use the astral quill along with astral ink created by dusts gathered by disenchanting -- which just so happens to be the enchanters minor profession -- dragon tears and other magical items. When disenchanting an item, the amount of dust you gather per item (which is destroyed in the process) differs from item to item. Before disenchanting an item, a random number post must be done. The number ranges will differ depending upon the item's level. PM a staff member with questions regarding magical item disenchantment. Each disenchanted dragon tear equates to 5 enchanting dust. When you become an advanced user of the enchanting craft, you will be offered the blood quill and your first vial of blood ink. This tool and reagent are used to craft stronger and darker magical enchantments, but require a bit more effort. You may decline this offer, but you will not be able to craft the blood or conjuration enchants until you pick up this specialized quill from the Vampire Enchantress. » useful adventuresAiding an Enchanter Hidden Treasure Hunting a Thief Wreckage Vampire Enchantress

» overviewEngineers are the tinkerers and fixer-uppers of the world. Many times seen as crazy mechanics, they tend to build fascinating structures. Many of the worlds asarei tend to take up engineering just because it's so ingrained into their culture. They use schematics to plan precisely which bolt goes where. They can craft fun mechanical and robotic role play pets as well as guns they call "boomsticks" and other fascinating pieces. They are also the ammunition can be utilized for any type of long ranged weaponry in Magesc and will give a boost of attack when equipped. All engineers have a tool kit that they use in order to craft these spectacular structures and objects. An engineers minor profession is called scrapping. This allows the engineer to destroy armor, weapons, metals, and other mechanical items to turn into metal scraps for their use. These scraps are then turned into bolts, blasting powder, and other things for the engineer to use. » useful adventuresAiding an Engineer Marketplace Wreckage

» overviewJewelers are able to craft beautiful rings, necklaces, trinkets and other pieces of jewelry for the people of Magesc. It has even been said that, with practice, a jeweler can socket armor for use with their famously powerful magical gems which they can find and imbue with magic through the use of dragon tears. A dragon's tear is the most prized possession of a jeweler, mainly because of their jewel-like essence and their mystical energies. Jewelers in the higher ranks can make their own version of dragon's tears as well, which aren't as powerful, but also offer decent power on their own. Jewelers use different techniques gathered from their mentors and around the world in order to help them along in their mastery of the craft. A jeweler requires a jeweler's kit to create such exquisite pieces for themselves and others to enjoy. Their minor profession of prospecting allows a jeweler to destroy metal to find precious gemstones within. » useful adventuresAiding a Jeweler Hunting in the Desert Quarry Drowning Ordon Metal Mining Pearl Diving

» overviewProbably the most laborious of all the professions, smithing requires hard work, sweat, tears, potentially blood, and many painstaking hours of labor to craft beautiful pieces of armor and weapons. Smiths use different methods learned from their mentors in order to craft strong metal pieces. Most smiths tend to choose to be a weapon smith or an armor smith, but being able to balance both are also equally rewarding. With more proficiency, a smith will be able to use scales and stones to craft lighter weight scale armor and the very sought after and rare mithril armor. Metals to be used in this profession include: copper, bronze, iron, silver, gold, rose gold, and mithril. Every smith requires an anvil to do their work. A forge and hammer is also encouraged ICly. A smiths' minor profession is called mining, which drops double the metal found in adventures for the smith. » useful adventuresAiding a Smith Marketplace Hunting in the Desert Quarry Pearl Diving

» overviewTailoring is a beautiful profession aimed at those who wish to sew for a living. They can make cloth robes, capes and other garments out of any type of cloth and in later ranks, they collect leather and hides to create impressive, lightweight leather garments. They can dye the cloth any color they wish to create many clothes used by, well, everyone in Magesc! A tailor will gather different patterns to use and increase their skills. At higher proficiencies, a tailor can imbue plain cloth with dragon tears to craft what is highly sought after magical "dragoncloth" and "x-dragoncloth", with which, they can craft garments imbued with the tears power. Note that the dragoncloth created are actually usable as growth items for your character (same as the ones you find on Peddler's Rock), but will be placed in your character's specific inventory, as it will only be usable by that character unless an RP is done to sell or trade that ware to another. Tailoring can't be done without a sewing kit. A tailor's minor profession is skinning, which grants the tailor hides or pelts off of dragon and creature drops whilst hunting. Or whenever a pelt or hide is offered in an adventure or hunt, double the amount awarded. » useful adventuresAiding a Tailor Marketplace Drowning Ordon Hidden Treasure Hunting a Thief
